MY LEGAL REP LTD – CLIENT SERVICE AGREEMENT

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the legal services provided by My Legal Rep Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By engaging our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms.
1. ABOUT US
1.1. My Legal Rep Ltd is a legal services provider specialising in employment tribunal representation.
1.2. We are not a firm of solicitors and are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
1.3. We are not barristers and are not regulated by the Bar Standards Board (BSB).
1.4. We are not insured by the Bar Mutual Indemnity Fund or any equivalent solicitor or barrister insurance scheme.
1.5. We comply with the Legal Services Act 2007 and only provide services that fall outside reserved legal activities under the Act.
1.6. Our services are offered in compliance with the laws of England and Wales.
1.7. Legal Professional Privilege – You acknowledge that communications between you and My Legal Rep Ltd may not be protected by legal professional privilege. This means that in certain circumstances, such communications could be disclosed to third parties, including courts and tribunals.
2. OUR SERVICES
2.1. We offer fixed-fee legal services, including:
Legal advice on employment disputes.
Drafting legal documents (e.g., tribunal applications, responses, witness statements).
Acting as an advocate in Employment Tribunals on behalf of clients.
Helping clients draft correspondence to employers or opposing parties.
2.2. We do not directly negotiate with employers, opposing parties, or their legal representatives. Instead, we assist clients in drafting their own correspondence and advising on negotiation strategy.
2.3. We do not conduct litigation, issue proceedings, or act as solicitors. If such services are required, we will advise you to seek regulated legal representation.
2.4. We do not provide legal aid services.
2.5. Our services do not cover reserved legal activities, including:
The conduct of litigation (e.g., formally issuing or defending proceedings in court).
The exercise of a right of audience beyond permitted tribunals.
Notarising documents or conducting probate services.
3. ENGAGEMENT & CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1. You must formally engage our services by:
Agreeing to these Terms.
Providing all requested information and documents.
Making the required deposit payment before work begins.
3.2. You must ensure that all information you provide is accurate, complete, and up to date.
3.3. We reserve the right to refuse or terminate services if:
a) You provide false, misleading, or incomplete information.
b) Your case falls outside our expertise or legal capacity.
c) You fail to cooperate or make payment as agreed.
4. FEES & PAYMENT
4.1. Our services are provided on a fixed-fee basis, with fees agreed upon before we commence work.
4.2. A deposit must be paid before any work begins. The remaining balance can be paid in full or through an agreed payment plan.
4.3. If a payment plan is agreed upon, you must make timely payments as scheduled. Failure to do so may result in termination of services.
4.4. All fees are non-refundable, except where we are unable to provide the agreed service due to our fault.
4.5. If your case requires additional work outside the agreed scope, we will inform you of any extra charges before proceeding.
4.6. If you fail to pay as agreed, we reserve the right to withdraw services and take appropriate action to recover outstanding fees.
5. CONFIDENTIALITY & DATA PROTECTION
5.1. We handle all personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
5.2. Your information will only be used to provide legal support services and will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except as required by law.
5.3. You have the right to:
Request access to your personal data.
Request corrections to inaccurate information.
Withdraw consent for data processing (subject to legal obligations).
6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
6.1. We will provide services with reasonable care and skill, but do not guarantee specific outcomes.
6.2. Our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the total fees paid by you.
6.3. We are not liable for:
Any indirect, consequential, or economic loss, including loss of earnings, reputational damage, or opportunity costs.
Any adverse outcomes resulting from incorrect or incomplete information provided by you.
7. TERMINATION OF SERVICES
7.1. Client-Initiated Termination:
You may terminate our services at any time by providing written notice.
Any work completed up to the termination date remains chargeable.
No refunds will be issued for work already carried out.
7.2. Company-Initiated Termination:
We reserve the right to terminate services if:
a) You fail to comply with these Terms.
b) A conflict of interest arises.
c) You engage in fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful conduct.
8. COMPLAINTS & DISPUTE RESOLUTION
8.1. If you are dissatisfied with our service, you must submit a written complaint to info@mylegalrep.co.uk.
8.2. We aim to resolve complaints within 28 days of receipt.
8.3. If the matter cannot be resolved, you may pursue alternative dispute resolution (ADR) or seek independent legal advice.
9. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION
9.1. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
9.2. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
